The Gables condominium complex is a guard-gated community located in northwest Huntington Beach in the Huntington Harbour area off of Edinger Avenue, an area that exudes an extremely serene vibe with easy access to shopping, dining, schools, the Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington Harbour. Built in 1980, the community is comprised of 80 condo units, situated four units to a building with garages facing outwards toward the street; floor plans offered by The Gables consist of both two- and three-bedroom models, with the smallest plan being the two-bedroom/one-bath unit that ranges anywhere from 966 to 1,032 square-feet and the largest being the three-bedroom/two-bath with nearly 1,218 square-feet. All models boast either a one- or two-car garage, laundry rooms and large outdoor patios.

On-site amenities offered by The Gables in Huntington Beach include a clubhouse, community swimming pool and spa and BBQ area, with HOA fees hovering around the $316 mark and which cover these aforementioned amenities as well as insurance for each unit. The attendant at the security gate requires residents to display an authorized decal in order to gain entry; the condos are approximately one-mile to the Huntington Harbour and boat launch area, Trader Joe’s, Bank of America and the Huntington Harbour Shopping Mall.

The 80 condo units located in this gated community sit on four small residential streets – Alderport Drive, Chase Drive, Warmington Lane and Sherlock Lane, the builder strategically positioning these streets on the outer boundaries of the property, giving the homes a quad-esque layout. This aids in function, with the back of the homes and garages facing the exterior of the streets and the front of the homes or front doors facing towards the interior of the quad.

The grounds are well-maintained with greenbelts, walking paths and shade trees, with the center focal point of the community being the three large greenbelts in the middle of the complex. Indeed, this formidable open space provides an awe-inspiring backdrop for homeowners when they’re looking out the front of their homes – this area is large enough to throw a Frisbee around, play catch football or entertain friends and kids.

Additional features offered by The Gables condos include central heating, open floor plans, walk-in closets, individual laundry rooms and bedrooms sizable enough to fit a California King bedroom set.

Here’s the tradeoff when looking for a home in The Gables community that sits on leased land: Condos here are priced much lower than surrounding comparable properties that are not built on such land; this lower purchase price results in a lower monthly mortgage payment, and this lower payment will offset the money spent on the annual lease payment.
